About the Location

GlenGair Estate is a beautiful farm located on 100 acres in Londonderry, Vermont.  The site has several c.1800 buildings, a barn, a swimming pond, stocked trout pond, and an abundance of farm animals.
In case you're wondering, we chose to have our wedding at GlenGair after Mike installed and reconditioned the lightning protection systems on five of the buildings.

About the Day

The entire ceremony and reception will be outdoors.  The walk from the parking area to the ceremony site will take about ten minutes, and will involve walking on a dirt road.  (A shuttle car will be available for anyone who requires it.) You'll spend the day walking/running/jumping/spinning on grass.  In other words, sensible shoes.
Plan for a casual, fun, outdoor day!  Outdoor games, swimming, and fishing will be available for all who want to get active.  If you're feeling mellower, perhaps a walk through the beautiful flower gardens and along the brook, or just sitting on the shore of the pond with friends and family.  See "What to Wear" below.  Please bring along items appropriate for the weather -- sunscreen, bug spray, hat, umbrella, etc. -- and remember that in Vermont, even in August it cools down later in the day.

       What to Wear

The ceremony and early cocktail reception are "garden party casual".  Do with that what you will, and have fun!  Men do not need a jacket or a tie, (but you can wear one if you'd like).  Women should avoid high or spike heels because of the grass.  Sandals are fine.

For the rest of the afternoon's fun, food, and festivities we encourage you to at least bring along a change of clothes, in case you decide you'd like to jump in the pond, play some Frisbee, or just get more comfortable.  Sandals, shorts, a bathing suit, a towel, sunscreen, and a sweatshirt would all be good choices.

In case of inclement weather, we do have a large party tent.  But you will need to walk outside the tent to get from place to place, so please bring/wear appropriate attire.

If you or your kids have favorite outdoor or water toys, bring 'em along.  There is also a stocked trout pond on site, so if you like to fish, feel free to bring your gear.

About the Kids

Young children are welcome!  If your kids like the outdoors, they'll have a great time!  We will have kids activities and some teenage babysitters on site so that mom and dad can have some grown-up time.  We'll also have some kid-friendly food.  Please pack your kids a backpack or zippered bag with play clothes, a bathing suit, a towel, a sweatshirt or jacket, sunscreen, bug spray, and a "mellow time" extra towel or blanket.

Fine Print: Please remember that there are potential hazards on site such as ponds, farm animals, 100 acres of fields and woods, and an electric cattle fence, and that you are ultimately responsible for your children's safety.  Although one of our guests happens to be a pediatrician, she would prefer not to work that day!
